Tutor’s Teaching Background

I am a beginner tutor with no formal professional tutoring experience, but I have experience teaching my younger siblings and nephews at home. Through this experience, I have developed a patient and adaptable approach to teaching, and I try to adjust my explanations according to the student’s level of understanding.

I particularly enjoy using visual aids, images, examples and simple story-based explanations to make concepts easier to understand and remember. I believe that rather than simply asking students to memorise information, it is important to help them understand the concept in a way that is engaging and relatable.

I am especially confident in teaching Tamil. I studied Higher Tamil throughout both primary and secondary school, which is an advanced Tamil programme for students with strong proficiency in the language. I achieved an A1 for Tamil and an A2 for Higher Tamil at O-Level. I am comfortable helping students improve their Tamil vocabulary, comprehension, grammar and general understanding of the language.

I am also comfortable teaching Mathematics at the primary school level. I am patient when explaining mathematical concepts and can break down questions into smaller, easier-to-understand steps.

As I am new to professional tutoring, I am eager to learn and gain experience. My aim is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and are not afraid of making mistakes.
