Tutor’s Teaching Background

Taught 11 students IB HL Biology since 2023, all of whom scored a 7 in their IB exams. I also helped 5 of my students with their Biology Extended Essay (from ideation to completion), all of whom received an A.

Taught 7 students in IB Language & Literature since 2023 (HL and SL). 5 of my students scored a 7, 2 scored a 6.

I have a younger brother in primary school and I would tutor him in English, Math and Science after school (P1 - P6) when I was in Singapore, so I am familiar with the primary school syllabi.

I have significant experience tutoring primary school students. In 2023, I founded a non-profit organization (tickettotech.org) to make coding classes accessible to all Singaporean children. Most of my students were in lower primary. I'm therefore familiar with the patience, creativity and adaptability required to engage younger students effectively and retain their attention.

I was vice-president of ACSI's Math Competition Team when I was in Upper Secondary. I achieved a Silver in the China Math Olympiad (Hua Xia Cup) and Silver/Bronze in various other olympiads. I also developed the syllabus to coach my school's olympiad team.

Beyond my experience conducting tuition, I've interned at A*STAR and co-authored a research paper published in a leading Bioinformatics academic journal. I'm therefore familiar with how to structure a professional academic paper and able to assist IB students in writing stellar Extended Essay / IA papers.

I conduct only 1-1 sessions so I'm able to tailor my teaching style to suit my students' unique personalities and learning needs. I am only available for online lessons as I am pursuing my Bachelors in New York. Due to differences in our time zones, I am unavailable between SGT 2PM and 7PM daily.
