Shadow Teacher (6 Months: June 2021 - Dec 2021)

• Worked as a 1:1 shadow support for a 3-year-old with Global Developmental Delay
• Implemented academic, social, behavioural and self-regulation strategies such as schedules, reward charts, social stories, visual support, social skills training, functional communication tools and role plays
• Achieved 100% of the child’s IEP goals within 3 months of support
• Updated teachers and parents daily on the progress of the child and strategies which can be implemented to better support him

Education

• I taught mild to severe autistic children with several suffering from co-morbid disorders such as ADHD, dyslexia and learning disabilities Math and Daily Living Skills following the MOE syllabus 
• Achieved 95% of my students' academic and functional IEP goals 
• Scaffolded teaching materials for children of different abilities
• Trained new staff in teaching autism-friendly teaching pedagogies.
• Lead the examination team to develop exam papers in line with national exams while taking into account support required for the profile of these students.

Socio-Behavioural interventions

• Recorded school observations of challenging students using the ABC chart and escalation chart.
• Liaised with parents and therapists on current interventions implemented for the child to ensure alignment on intervention strategies
• Undertook tactics such as role play, social stories and explicit teaching to reduce difficult behaviour
• Applied Positive Behavioural Support to teach self-regulation and social-emotional skills to the students on a day-to-day basis
