Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have experience teaching preschool and primary school children in 1-to-1 and group settings. I focus on building foundational skills through structured and engaging methods. I conducted 1-to-1 phonics and reading lessons for preschool children for about a year, using specialised toolkits to strengthen letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and reading fluency. As a volunteer with a non-profit organisation in Singapore, I also led a group session of 8–9 preschoolers by reading storybooks, emphasizing phonics, and encouraging peer learning, creating a fun and interactive environment. Additionally, I tutored Primary 5 students in English and Math, and supported Primary 1-3 students in Math and English through 1-to-1 sessions for 3 months, all under a local non-profit initiative. These experiences have helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a child-focused teaching style that is especially supportive for young learners. I believe in building confidence and enjoyment in learning, tailored to each child’s pace and needs.
