Tutor’s Teaching Background

- Currently teaching at a math tuition centre - Shadowed and learnt from an ex-HOD school teacher for 3 years - Doing 1-1 private tuition for P2, P5, Sec 2, Sec 4, Sec 4 E and A Math students - Sec 2 students' improvements in 2024: F9 -> B4, B5 -> A1, B3 -> A1, C5-> B3 - 2/2 O Level A Math students scored distinctions and my PSLE students scored 2 B3, 2 A2 and 1 A1 for Math in 2023. - Trained to create material for tuition classes, own material provided if needed - Experienced with all levels of tuition group classes, ranging from P3 to Sec 4 students - Familiar with current heuristics and trending questions - I believe that the secret to excelling at Math is all about understanding and practice. When teaching a new topic, I will find creative ways to emphasise on the key concepts until the student is able to explain it back to me in his/her own terms. Once the student fully understands the ideas tested by the topic, I will then move on to practicing questions of increasing difficulty until the student is able to remember and apply the strategies without any help. - I like to take a more friendly, patient and understanding approach when teaching my students, trying to avoid scolding or using harsh language that may hurt their confidence.  I believe that the higher a student's morale, the more they will enjoy learning the subject and hence improve faster. - I genuinely enjoy teaching Math, and as a student myself I know how big of an impact a good teacher can have on a student's grades. They can teach the student to have a different view on the subject, make classes more interesting, motivate them to achieve better results, and I aspire to be that influence on your child.
