Tutor’s Teaching Background

Teaching methodology is to first identify weaknesses of the student (reading, writing, further thinking etc). After which I will focus on brushing up on skills those weaknesses based on school materials and some external materials (novels, passages, essays etc) Homework is only given on a needs basis so as not to overwhelm the student or encourage sloppy work. However, this can be adjusted based on the needs of the student or the request of parents. There will be quick QnA sessions at the start of each lesson to see if student needs help with schoolwork or an upcoming examination. I taught H2 Chinese Language & Literature for 1 year and student saw an improvement from E to B in 6 months. I taught GP for one year and the student saw an improvement from D to B in 6 months Beyond that, I am able to provide guidance as an ex-student both academically, and in general life. I am also able to guide the student in finding effective ways of independent learning (study methods, time management, exam tips) . Having graduated from Hwa Chong Institution (College Section), I am confident in my ability to cater programs that suit my students' needs and learning styles for A Levels.
