Tutor’s Teaching Background

- Volunteering: Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre (2023 to present)   = Tutor primary 4 to primary 6 students in Math, Science and English    = Provided one to one tutoring and aided them in their homework, ensuring that they understand the concepts and learn how to apply for different type of questions = Tutor 2 students at once when there is a lack of tutors   = Source different materials from various textbooks and online resources My instructional approach is deeply rooted in inquiry-based learning, deliberately moving away from rote memorization in favor of genuine conceptual understanding. I try to use real-world analogies to explain abstract mathematical principles, making complex topics feel accessible and intuitive to younger learners. By actively including thought-provoking questions into my lessons, I challenge students to articulate their reasoning and think critically about the "why" behind a formula. It helps to keep them engaged but also trains them to develop the independent problem-solving skills necessary to tackle the demanding, multi-step questions found in G3 Math. I am willing to extend the tuition hours if necessary without any additional charges to help the student grasp the concept better, especially when it is nearing examination periods. If necessary, I am also willing to buy additional assessment books at my own cost to help the student to be exposed to more difficult questions. My main goal is really to help the child to improve in his grades and catch up to his/her peers so I will definitely put in the necessary effort to help him/her to improve. - Additionally, I have kept all my JC materials and I am currently well versed in Biology and Chemistry due to the nature of my degree - I am flexible with the tuition hours as I stay at Pending so it should be easier for me to accommodate to your timing.
