Tutor’s Teaching Background

Done 1-1 teaching and tutoring since JC days. Total more than 30 students.

I have A grades for Chemistry and Mathematics for both A and O Level.
I have achieved a first class honours in a chemistry and mathematics degree.
I am a recipient of the MOE Teaching Scholarship.
I have also been nominated for the outstanding STEM teacher award when I was with MOE.

I have taught in Anderson Secondary School as an MOE trained teacher in both Chemistry and Mathematics for 3 years. I have also taught private tuition since my university days (7 years). I am very experienced in what MOE demands from the syllabus. I have also been a setter for numerous exam papers and am familiar with the different question types for both science and mathematics.

I am currently teaching 2 Lower Secondary students and 2 O Level students in both Chemistry and Mathematics.

In my school classes, I am a greatly loved teacher, getting more than a 95% positive rating on all domains (teaching pedagogy, teaching pacing, usage of teaching tools, positive classroom culture, parental engagement) in the annual teaching and learning survey. In my tenure as a private tutor, students generally improve by 2-3 grades within 2 months. I have good testimonials from my ex-students which I have compiled nicely into a document.
