Tutor’s Teaching Background

Teaching experience: 9 years of private Maths tuition for PSLE, 'O', ‘N’ and 'A' lvls, and IP. Taught in an MOE sec sch for 1 year to graduating classes. Taught in an MOE pri sch GEP Maths during my MOE internship. Taught in Terry Chew Academy for Maths Olympiad and PSLE Maths. Track record: In one academic year, my students typically improve 2-3 grades and start enjoying Maths. I’m also able to push my students to be of high calibre to consistently achieve 90-100%. Teaching method: Using creative ways to explain to students concepts to help them understand and appreciate the subject deeply rather than memorising. As a student, I chose to dedicate all my resources and effort towards mastering Maths, the subject I love. Attaining PSLE A* to NUS B.Sc. Maths, my academic pursuit has enlightened me on how a student can and should be pushed all the way to become a high scorer. I promote strong critical thinking skills which makes Maths fun, interesting and simple. It’s the way I myself used and found highly effective, and it’s second nature to me teaching with such pedagogies. I often witness my students becoming enthusiastic about questions after merely one lesson. I also put my focus on having good rapport, as I believe a willing learner begins with a caring and patient mentor.
