Tutor’s Teaching Background

I used to tutor back in my younger days, which was several years ago. Currently, I am planning to go back in to full-time tutoring.  I have a passion for English language and Literature. It was always my best subject back in my school days. Currently, I enjoy writing poetry. My poetry was selected for the Poetry Festival Singapore 2023. I am also a co-founder of my own company, Poetic Pursuits. I have also been writing professionally for 8 years now and have worked for big brands like Motherhood Magazine, Abbott, Hyundai and Bose. My journey with teaching English is deeply personal. It began with poetry, when I struggled with mental health and found a way to express myself through writing poetry. It became a safe space, outlet, and my way of being heard. That experience inspired me to create Poetic Pursuits, a space where creativity, poetry, and mental wellness meet. And it’s also what drives my passion for teaching English. For me, language is more than grammar and rules, it’s a bridge to confidence, opportunity, and emotional expression. When I teach, I want to go beyond textbooks. I want to help learners discover their own voice, to feel the freedom of expressing themselves in English, whether through a poem, a conversation, or a story that matters to them. My methodology is playful yet purposeful, blending creativity, storytelling, and practical skills so that learning English feels like unlocking a new way of seeing the world. At the heart of it, I teach English because I believe that everyone has a story worth telling.
