Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have taught English to both primary and secondary students in Singapore, focusing on exam preparation as well as long-term language development. For primary students, I have guided them through components of the PSLE English paper such as Situational Writing, Continuous Writing, Comprehension Cloze, and Oral. One of my Primary 6 students improved from 55% in SA1 to 78% in SA2, while another progressed from a Band 3 to Band 1 within two terms by strengthening composition structure and comprehension accuracy. In lessons, I place strong emphasis on: --Grammar drills (e.g., correcting tenses, subject–verb agreement) to build accuracy. --Composition writing practice, teaching students how to craft introductions, use descriptive phrases, and organise ideas with model essay comparisons. --Comprehension strategies, such as annotating passages, highlighting keywords, and practising inference questions. --Oral preparation, including picture discussion and reading aloud with proper intonation and vocabulary use. I also provide past-year PSLE papers, model compositions, and customised worksheets, reviewing mistakes carefully to ensure lasting improvement.
