Tutor’s Teaching Background

From year 4 in NUS and I have tutored N- and O-Level students from Unity Secondary School under the NUS TeachSG programme, and peer-tutored Chemistry and Engineering Mathematics during my time at NYP (Diploma in Materials Science). I adopt a structured, hands-on approach focused on active learning and immediate feedback. Lessons begin with clear explanations of key concepts and question types, followed by guided worked examples before students attempt similar questions independently. I provide curated MOE-aligned notes and worksheets using Ten-Year Series and past-year school papers, arranged from basic to advanced. Students complete work during lessons while I monitor closely, mark on the spot, and address misconceptions immediately. I emphasise intensive in-class practice over homework, with optional additional practice provided. This approach has consistently improved students’ understanding, exam techniques, and confidence, with many progressing from failing grades to passing.
