Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have over 9-10 years of experience in tutoring and mentoring students, supporting them in their academic development as well as building their confidence in learning. I have worked with students at the Kindergarten, Primary and lower Secondary levels, particularly in subjects such as English, Malay, Chinese, Mathematics and Science.

Throughout my teaching experience, I focus on ensuring that students fully understand concepts rather than rely on memorisation. I break down complex topics into simple, structured steps and use relatable examples to help students grasp key ideas effectively. I also provide targeted practice and guided problem-solving techniques to strengthen their foundation and improve accuracy.

I have experience in:

• Identifying students’ weak areas and customising lesson plans accordingly
• Preparing students for school assessments and examinations
• Reinforcing key concepts through consistent revision and practice
• Encouraging students to ask questions and develop independent thinking skills

In addition, I place strong emphasis on patience, encouragement, and building rapport, as I believe a positive learning environment helps students stay motivated and engaged. I also maintain clear communication with parents, providing updates on progress and areas for improvement.

My students have shown improvement not only in their academic results, but also in their confidence and attitude towards learning, which I consider equally important.
