Tutor’s Teaching Background

While I do not have formal tutoring experience, I have actively mentored classmates and supported peers academically by explaining challenging concepts, sharing study strategies, and helping them develop effective learning habits. As a member of the Mentoring Club at Nanyang Polytechnic, I continue to strengthen my communication and guidance skills while supporting fellow students. My passion for teaching stems from my own educational journey. Like many students, I faced challenges in finding study methods that worked for me. Through perseverance, consultations with teachers, independent research, and structured study techniques, I improved significantly and achieved 7 A/A* grades in the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE examinations, alongside receiving the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. Having studied under both the British Curriculum and Cambridge International Education (CIE) system, I am familiar with diverse learning approaches and examination requirements. I am fluent in both English and Chinese, allowing me to communicate effectively with students from different backgrounds. My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, effective study habits, exam techniques, and confidence. I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, consistent effort, and personalised support. My goal is not only to help students achieve better academic results but also to develop independent learning skills that benefit them beyond the classroom.
