Tutor’s Teaching Background

My passion is with words and people. I strongly believe that education is the best investment for every individual to learn and strive for their dreams. No dream is too small or too big to achieve. Especially with regards to language, culture and communication.     I am fully committed to bringing out the best in every student to learn, enjoy learning and excel. Being a private English tutor for 16 years, I am well experienced and equipped to teach English to local students in preparation for PSLE and GCE ‘O’ levels, as well as  teach English to foreign students in preparation for AEIS, GCE and IGCSE ‘O’ levels and IELTS.   To date, I have gained priceless experience in classroom teaching with 1 year experience in an AEIS preparatory school and 3 months contract experience in an international school. A 6 months’ work exploration in curriculum development and 2 months online teaching for China students have been most rewarding to me.   Being a freelance writer, editor and translator for 6 years has further honed my sharp eyes for the English language and different styles of writing. To strengthen my teaching ability, I plan to take on TESOL learning online and a certificate in Phonics.
