Tutor’s Teaching Background

Although I may not have formal teaching experience with a centre or a classroom, my dedication to education can be seen through years of hands-on tutoring with younger siblings and mentoring secondary school students.My first experience in teaching was with my younger sister, currently age 5, who struggles with short attention spans. I tutored her in art, English, and math since her nursery years. Through personalized and engaging yet creative methods, I encouraged her interest to learn via kinesthetic means in order to strengthen both her knowledge and motor skills. I have also mentored multiple secondary school students in developing their art portfolios for polytechnic/art school applications since 2022. As a former early admission applicant myself, I decided to help these students achieve their dream course. For the past 3 years, the students I helped were always 100% successfully accepted into their dream courses. Graduating this May 2025, my cGPA is 3.6 thus reflecting my abilities. By teaching a large age range of students, I have been able to develop multiple skills relevant for teaching such as patience, adaptability, and creativity. I hope to bring these similar skills to teach and inspire students to reach their fullest potential within the artistic world.
