Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have taught students from Primary 1-6 English, Mathematics, and Chinese. I have more than 5 years of teaching experience and have taught about 26 students to date. I will usually use a personalised and student-centric teaching approach to suit different individual learning styles. I would always foster a positive and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and clarify any doubts they have. I will try to integrate real-life examples to help them understand and relate better to complex concepts as well.  Regular assessments can help me gauge comprehension levels, allowing me to address any gaps in understanding promptly. I am committed to providing constructive feedback and creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages continuous improvement. Through a combination of clear explanations, active engagement, and adaptability, I aim to empower students to grasp challenging concepts and excel in their academic journey. I will give clear instructions, making it simple and concise for them to understand better (such as applying real-life concepts). I always feel that to better manage students with special needs, it is important to focus on one concept at a time to prevent overwhelming the student. I will give them breaks in between the lesson for them to better maintain their focus and I think that it is also important to have a consistent routine for them to follow so that they will not be easily distracted. Last but not least, I will frequently give them praises/rewards to motivate them better and constantly support them in their learning journey. Comments from the parent and student: We both felt that you are a very dedicated teacher. She told me that the lessons with you - she can catch up, understands and enjoy. She is not easy to coach… and you are patient la. You are sooo good. I really appreciate your effort. You deserve the recognition :)
