Tutor’s Teaching Background

Dunman High School IP programme graduate 87.5 for A levels, AAB/AAA with a B in physics NUS undergraduate bachelors in Business Administration I had a short term teaching attachment in Pei Chun Public School for a few months. During this attachment, I offered academic and behavioural support (in class and after school) to students with special learning needs (ADHD, dyslexia etc). The students’ ages ranged from P3-P6. I also conducted an after-school math remedial programme for a group of Primary 3 students who were exceptionally weak in Mathematics. I have experience teaching small groups of up to 10 students.   During the semester of which I conducted the P3 Math Remedial Programme, I witnessed a profound improvement in the ability, focus and mindset of the students. Being at the tail end of their cohort, they initially strongly disliked Mathematics, resulting in inadequate focus and practice. Through adapting to these students’ individual needs, I guided them towards stronger academic performances.   I have experience working with students with high learning needs, and I worked closely with Pei Chun’s Special Educational Needs Officers and Councillors to support these students.
