Tutor’s Teaching Background

1-1 teaching experience with secondary school CCA members from IP track in Maths and Physics, grades improved from C5 to A1 over the course of two terms. However, I have to stress the importance of having a tutee who is personally motivated to improve and eager to digest the information they receive.   To be prepared to teach over Zoom, I will constantly work with the tutee to understand key areas of weakness by looking through her previous test answers. From there, I will schedule the sessions starting from the weakest topics, tackling any misconceptions. I believe in guiding the tutee to the right answers, so I will structure my teachings and guidance by building upon her current knowledge. As a past RJC student myself in similar predicaments, I understand the struggles that one may have when studying Economics in J1, which may be discouraging. However, with the aid from both RJC and me, I believe the results would show. Notes and slides will be provided as the lessons progress, if I deem it necessary for her understanding. I will also suggest suitable studying methods that worked effectively for me during my days at RJC, which saw my economics grade improve tremendously through my study methods. After tutee has provided some contextual information on her current grade, areas of concern and preferred tuition style (to go through class assignment/revise concepts etc.). These can also be discussed further during our first lesson and adjusted from there. While lesson timings would be honoured to my best ability, having alternative time slots would make it easier to reschedule in case of timetable clashes for either party.
